Rev. Harriett Akins-Banman
Rev. Harriett Akins-Banman is a Kentucky native that transplanted to Arkansas in 2001. She was appointed as Senior Pastor at Faith United Methodist Church in June 2011. She has served rural, urban and city churches in South Carolina, Texas, Kansas, Ohio and England in her 26 years of ministry. Her special interest in ministry is spiritual formation using the labyrinth and other ancient prayer practices. A graduate of Perkins School of Theology with a Masters of Divinity, she received her undergraduate in Broadcasting and Theatre from Western Kentucky University.
Rev. Harriett is a certified labyrinth facilitator through Veriditas Worldwide Labyrinth Project, Disciple Bible study leader and is working toward certification in Spiritual Direction. An avid reader, swimmer, and amateur flower gardener, Rev. Harriett shares life with her husband Mike Banman, daughter Madison, and the most laid back Jack Russell ever, Mattie.
Ginny Ryan
Ginny Ryan was a member of Markham UMC for approximately 17 years before it became Faith UMC under a new charter in 2003. She works as the administrative assistant and serves as the chairperson of Mission and Outreach. Ginny has a passion for serving those less fortunate, especially feeding the homeless. She has served the homeless through a meal service that began "under the bridge” and continues to serve in that feeding ministry through the Salvation Army.
Worship Team
The worship team leads weekly services through singing and instrumental music blending traditional and a variety of contemporary styles. Worship is never the same incorporating puppets, drama, canticles, and a variety of music types.
